Turn back time.
A breast lift, also called a mastopexy, is a cosmetic procedure that corrects the drooping or sagging of the breasts. This can occur due to:
- Weight loss
- A combination of the three
These factors can even affect the size and position of the nipple, an element that can also be corrected during your breast lift. If you want enhancement in size, breast augmentation can be performed at the same time.
The basics of breast lift surgery
During a breast lift, an incision is typically made in the areola of the nipple. This allows the nipple to be resized, if necessary, and provides access to the rest of the breast. In most cases, a layer of skin is separated from the breast tissue to enable a re-positioning of the breasts. The skin is then tightened over the newly positioned breast and the procedure is complete.
Youthful, firm breasts can be yours again.
If you see that your breasts are sagging or you are unhappy with the look or position on your chest, you may be a good candidate for a breast lift. During your consultation with Dr. Afrooz, your candidacy will be determined after a thorough review of your medical history. He will be able to answer all of your questions regarding the surgery and handle any concerns you may have about your breast lift procedure.
Your recovery. We watch over you.
After your breast lift, you may experience bruising or soreness for a few days. This usually resolves within two weeks. We will recommend that you get as much rest as possible during the weeks following your procedure. Adequate rest allows your body to heal properly and will play a large role in your recovery.
Combining your breast lift with a breast augmentation may lengthen the recovery time—however, in both instances we will ask you to avoid any demanding physical activity directly after your treatment. We carefully monitor every step of your recovery and are always available for your questions or concerns.
