A deep plane lower face and neck lift addresses aging at its structural level, not just the skin. In this patient, the neck contour improved dramatically once the deeper support layers (SMAS and platysma) were carefully released and repositioned. This approach allows the tissues to be restored to a more youthful position rather than simply tightened or pulled. The result is a smoother jawline, improved neck definition, and a natural transition between the face and neck, without tension, distortion, or an “operated” look. This is why I favor the deep plane technique for facial rejuvenation: it respects anatomy, restores balance, and produces results that age well over time.
