Imagine Winning The Battle Against Acne.

Acne treatments include a range of different procedures that are designed to treat acne and reduce the long-term impact on your facial skin. Facial skin is incredibly sensitive, especially during acne breakouts, so Dr. Afrooz carefully reviews all the options with his patients to determine the treatment that will produce the best results. Acne treatments can help diminish acne breakouts and help reduce the acne scarring for a smoother, more attractive complexion.

Can my Acne Scars be resolved?

Dermabrasion and chemical peels can also produce a remarkable improvement in acne scars. These treatments remove the exterior, damaged layer of skin, and allow new, healthy skin to grow in its place. The fresh, new layer of skin will have less visible scarring.

In some cases, Dr. Afrooz will use Juvederm®, a dermal filler, to smooth acne scars. This plumps the skin if it is pitted or uneven due to acne scars. These injections provide instant results that can last up to a year or longer. Another treatment that can help reduce scarring is laser skin resurfacing. As with chemical peels and dermabrasion, safe, reliable, custom laser treatments remove the outermost layer of the skin. As a result, new, undamaged skin grows in its place, with the added benefit of stimulated collagen production in the body. The natural increase in collagen triggers further skin repair and growth for weeks and months after treatment.

WHAT TREATMENTS CAN HELP ME FINALLY BE FREE OF ACNE?

Dr. Afrooz uses two main techniques to treat acne: dermabrasion and chemical peels. These treatments exfoliate the outermost layer of skin, where acne is the most severe. After the outer layer of the skin is shed, the newly revealed layer is fresh, undamaged and healthy. These techniques can also help reduce the amount of oil found in the skin, a common cause of acne breakouts.

WILL THE TREATMENT HELP ME?

Your acne treatment will depend on the techniques used. All our techniques are generally comfortable, although a topical anesthetic can be applied to minimize any discomfort that the patient may experience. Dr. Afrooz prioritizes the safety and comfort of each patient and performs all acne treatments with the utmost care and precision.

How Long is the recovery?

Recovery from acne treatments will also depend on the techniques used. Dermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing can cause minor swelling or redness following treatment. In addition, we recommend that patients minimize sun exposure following these treatments, because the newly exposed skin will be highly sensitive to sunlight for several weeks.

Patients treated with Juvéderm® will typically experience minor swelling or soreness at most, and are able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. The results and their duration vary by patient and procedure, but Dr. Afrooz will explain what you can expect from your treatment during your consultation.
